On this page: Two signatures make the key
Enabling trading gives this device a trading key of its own. Your wallet signs to make it and register it with your account; no money moves. The key then signs your orders on this device, and it can never send funds to anyone else.
Two signatures make the key
Section titled “Two signatures make the key”| Prompt | What it does |
|---|---|
| 1. Seed the key | Your signature adds randomness to the new key, on top of the browser’s own. |
| 2. Register it | A second approval registers the key with your account. |
Then Mirrorlane confirms the key is live, which takes a few seconds. While each prompt is open, Mirrorlane shows the message your wallet will display, with your account and key numbers left out.
The exchange registers a key only on an account that holds collateral, which is why the deposit comes first. What the key can and can’t do is on Your trading key.
Your options
Section titled “Your options”| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Remember this device | On | Keeps the key encrypted on this device, so trading is on when you come back. Use it only on a device you own; the key isn’t your wallet’s private key. Off, the key lasts the session and you enable trading again next visit. |
| Signatures | 2 signatures | With 1 signature, one approval makes and registers the key, seeded from secure browser randomness alone. |
Both are in Settings, Security too, as Remember me and Auth signatures; a change there applies to the next key you register. Chase limit, iceberg and advanced TWAP need Remember me on.
Before making the key, Mirrorlane checks the browser. If a browser extension has changed how the browser makes random numbers, it warns you; if secure randomness is missing or replaced, key creation stops. If your device clock is out of sync, it says so, since signing may fail.
Choose Plus or Premium
Section titled “Choose Plus or Premium”Mirrorlane trades on two of the exchange’s account types. Pick one; choosing takes no wallet prompt.
| Plus (Recommended) | Premium (Fastest) | |
|---|---|---|
| Taker orders | 300 ms | 140 ms |
| Cancels | 300 ms | 0 ms |
| Sub-accounts | Up to 16 | Up to 64 |
| Fast withdrawals and transfers | Fee applies | Free |
Each card shows its fee per trade on perps, and Compare everything opens the full table; see The fee and Account types. One type covers every account on your wallet. You can switch later under Account type in your account; Mirrorlane switches only with no open positions or orders, and after any switch, the next waits 24 hours.
Approve the fee
Section titled “Approve the fee”One wallet signature, once, and every order you place here can go through. The approval has no end date, applies to every order you place here, and never lets anyone move your funds. The fee is charged when an order fills, and nothing on cancels. See what your wallet shows opens the message before you sign.
If you decline, nothing is signed: approve now, or when you place your first order, where the ticket’s button reads Approve the trading fee. The exchange allows at most 4 approved apps per account; if yours already has 4, revoke one under Approved integrators in API keys first, with no wallet prompt.
Trading is on
Section titled “Trading is on”The last screen shows what you can trade with and what was set up. Start trading opens the trade screen, where a short tour runs once; skip it any time. Then place your first order.
Coming back, and other devices
Section titled “Coming back, and other devices”- This device remembers its key: connecting turns trading on, with no prompt.
- Already trading on the exchange, or on a new device: connect, then sign once or twice. No deposit needed.
- Each device and each account you trade from gets its own key. Your other devices keep theirs.
- Every key slot taken: revoke an old key in API keys, then try again.
- Lost a device: revoke its key from API keys on any other device. Your wallet signs the revocation.
- Still on Standard: you can cancel orders and close positions here until you pick Plus or Premium.
