What your wallet signs

Your wallet signs only a few things on Mirrorlane, and never an order. Here is every prompt, when it comes and what it allows.

On this page: Every prompt

Your wallet is your login and the owner of your account. Day to day, your trading key signs for you; the wallet comes back only for what the key isn’t allowed to do alone.

Prompt When it comes What it allows Moves money
Share your address Connecting your wallet Mirrorlane sees your wallet’s address. No
Seed the key, a Mirrorlane message Enable trading, with 2 signatures Nothing. Its signature only adds randomness to the new key. No
Register Lighter Account Enable trading, a sub-account this device has no key for yet, and Refresh key Adds this device’s trading key to that account. No
Approve Integrator, the fee approval Once, on Plus or Premium, before your first order Orders placed here carry the fee, with no end date. No
Register Lighter Account, with an all-zero key Revoking a key Clears that key’s slot for good. No
Transfer Sending funds to someone else’s account Sends that amount, plus the transfer fee shown, to that account. Yes
Transfer, to the fast-withdraw pool A fast withdrawal Sends USDC to the exchange’s pool, which pays it to the address you entered on Arbitrum. Yes
Ethereum transactions A deposit from your wallet Moves the amount you deposit. Your wallet pays the network’s gas. Yes

The seed message reads “Create a trading key for account … on this device. This signature adds randomness to the new key. It does not move funds or approve a transaction.” Each of Lighter’s messages names what it does in its first line and ends with a warning to sign only for a trusted client.

  • From Ethereum: your wallet may ask to switch to Ethereum, then to approve the exact amount, unless an earlier approval already covers it, then to send the deposit to Lighter’s contract.
  • From another network: one USDC transfer to your deposit address there.
  • From an exchange or another wallet: you send to your deposit address from there, and Mirrorlane asks your wallet for nothing.

See Deposits for the networks and minimums.

With the default 2 signatures, a new account sees four to six prompts in all: connecting, up to two for the deposit, two for the key and one for the fee approval. Only the deposit moves money. Already trading on Lighter? Skip the deposit: connect and sign twice, then approve the fee if your account hasn’t.

Picking Plus or Premium takes no wallet prompt; this device’s key signs the switch.

  • Orders of every type, changes and cancels, TP / SL, and the strategies that run in your browser.
  • Leverage, margin mode, and adding or removing isolated margin.
  • Secure withdrawals, which go only to your own wallet.
  • Moves between your own accounts, perps and spot included.
  • Creating, naming and colouring sub-accounts.
  • Switching between Plus and Premium.
  • Revoking the fee approval, or another app’s approval.

For the key and the fee approval, Mirrorlane shows the message before your wallet does, with its numbers left out: the signing screen shows the key’s messages, and the fee approval screen unfolds its own. Check that the first line matches what you asked for.

Never sign a Register Lighter Account message you didn’t start. It adds a key that can trade on your account. If one got through, revoke the key under API keys in your account.

Mirrorlane never asks for your seed phrase or your wallet’s private key, and no Mirrorlane screen takes one.
