Limits
Every limit you can meet on Mirrorlane, from orders a minute to key slots. Most are the exchange’s and depend on your account type.
On this page: Requests a minute
Accounts on Mirrorlane trade on Plus or Premium, so those are the figures that count. Standard’s are shown where an account still on Standard would meet them.
Requests a minute
Section titled “Requests a minute”| Plus | Premium | Standard | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orders and other transactions | 4,000 a minute | 4,000 a minute, up to 72,000 with LIT staked in Lighter’s app | 60 requests a minute, for everything |
| Reading data | 24,000 weighted requests a minute | 24,000 weighted requests a minute | Shares the 60 |
On Plus and Premium, orders and data reads count separately, so reading a lot never holds up an order. Mirrorlane’s own background reads, such as your history and the Markets page, also wait while you trade, so your orders keep the budget.
The exchange also lists a default limit for each kind of transaction, and it isn’t settled whether placing and changing orders fall under it. Until it is, Mirrorlane keeps every kind of transaction under that default, so a burst of many orders in one minute can be held back.
Volume quota
Section titled “Volume quota”On Plus and Premium, placing orders, changing them and Cancel all also draw on a volume quota. One quota serves every account on your wallet.
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| New accounts start with | 1,000 |
| You earn | 1 more for every $2 you trade |
| Most it holds | 15,000,000, and it never expires |
| At zero | 1 order every 15 seconds |
| Not counted | Cancelling a single order |
| Counted once | An order with its TP / SL. A batch counts each order in it. |
The Volume quota card in the Account sheet, under Account type, shows what’s left after your last order.
When you reach a limit
Section titled “When you reach a limit”- The exchange refuses the request. A block by its firewall lasts 60 seconds. Reaching the request limit also limits the live connection, and the other way round.
- Mirrorlane slows down first. It counts your requests and holds back before the exchange would refuse. An order that would have to wait more than 3 seconds isn’t queued: the ticket says the request limit is reached and to try again in a few seconds.
- After a refusal, everything pauses. The pause starts at 1 second and doubles while refusals continue, up to 60 seconds.
Open and pending orders
Section titled “Open and pending orders”Open orders rest on the book. Pending orders are accepted but not on the book yet: stops, take profits and TWAP orders. A TWAP counts as one pending order, and its slices don’t count.
| Open, per account | Open, per market | Pending, per account | Pending, per market | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plus | 750 | 250 | 500 | 100 |
| Premium | 1,500 | 1,000 | 1,000 | 100 |
| Standard | 250 | 30 | 50 | 10 |
At a limit the exchange refuses the new order, and the ticket names the limit you reached. Cancel orders you no longer need to make room.
Order sizes and prices
Section titled “Order sizes and prices”Each market sets its own steps and minimum. Find them in the Details tab beside the chart (on a phone, the Details tab beside Chart and Book) and in a market’s details on the Markets page.
| Limit | What it is |
|---|---|
| Minimum order | The larger of a minimum size in the asset and a minimum value in USDC. It applies to orders that rest on the book. If a limit order is under it, the ticket tells you the minimum at your price. |
| Size step | Sizes go in this step. |
| Price tick | Prices go in this step. |
| Price band | A sell limit no lower than 95% of the higher of the mark price and the best bid, and a buy limit no higher than 105% of the lower of the mark price and the best ask. Stop and take profit limit orders are measured from their trigger price. The ticket warns before you send an order outside it. |
| How long orders rest | Limit orders, stops and TP / SL from the ticket expire after 28 days unless they fill, trigger or you cancel them. |
Leverage
Section titled “Leverage”Each market has its own maximum leverage: 1 ÷ its initial margin requirement. The Details tab shows it as Max leverage, and the market’s margin and leverage dialog goes from 1× up to it. Some markets take isolated margin only. You can change leverage up to 40 times a minute. See Leverage and margin.
Batches, scale and atomic orders
Section titled “Batches, scale and atomic orders”Scale orders, atomic baskets and Close all go to the exchange together, in batches. Mirrorlane sends them 15 orders at a time and splits a larger set into several batches. Every order in a batch counts toward your limits on its own.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Orders in one scale | Up to 20: the ticket’s Orders button offers 3, 5, 8, 10, 15 or 20 |
| Markets in one atomic basket | Up to 40 |
In an atomic basket the longs’ and shorts’ percentages add up to 100%, markets you trade in isolated margin can’t join, and a leg under its market’s minimum isn’t placed. Each leg goes as its own order and the ticket shows each leg’s result: it isn’t confirmed that a basket fills all or nothing. See Atomic baskets.
TWAP and browser strategies
Section titled “TWAP and browser strategies”A TWAP runs on the exchange: one slice every 30 seconds, for a running time of at least 5 minutes. It counts as one pending order. See TWAP.
Chase limit, Iceberg and Advanced TWAP run in your browser instead.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Running at once | 10, across Chase limit, Iceberg and Advanced TWAP |
| Where they run | In your browser, while any Mirrorlane tab is open on the device. Closing the last tab stops them; they pick up again when you come back. |
| Remember me | Needed. Strategies stay off while Remember me is off. |
| Their orders | Each order a strategy places expires after 1 hour. |
| Chase limit | Re-prices every 5 seconds. Chase distance up to 5%. A chunk of 0.01% to 100% of the size, never under the market’s minimum. |
| Iceberg | A chunk of at most 33.33% of the size. At most 10 orders resting at once. |
| Advanced TWAP | A running time from 5 minutes, or from 1 minute with Randomize. A slice every 5 to 3,600 seconds. |
Deposits and withdrawals
Section titled “Deposits and withdrawals”| Deposit from | First deposit | Later deposits |
|---|---|---|
| Your wallet on Ethereum, into the exchange’s contract | 1 USDC, or about $1 of another asset | 1 USDC, or about $1 of another asset |
| Your wallet, on a network the exchange’s own bridge takes | 5 USDC | 5 USDC |
| Ethereum or Tron, by deposit address | $5 | $5 |
| Solana or another EVM network, by deposit address or from your wallet | $5 | $3 |
| Bitcoin, by deposit address | $10 | $10 |
The deposit screen shows the minimum for the network you pick. Send a little more than it: bridging and swaps can lose some to slippage. See Deposits.
| Secure | Fast | |
|---|---|---|
| Goes to | Your own wallet on Ethereum | Any address on Arbitrum |
| Assets | Any | USDC from perps |
| Minimum | Set for each asset: 1 USDC | 4 USDC |
| How often | Capped by the exchange, counted across every account on your wallet | 10 an hour |
The Withdraw form shows each asset’s minimum under the amount. Fast also depends on what the Arbitrum pool can pay: the form warns when an amount is more than it, and Fast pauses when the pool can pay nothing. See Withdrawals.
Transfers
Section titled “Transfers”| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Minimum | Set for each asset: 1 USDC. The Transfer form shows it under the amount. |
| How often | Up to 120 transfers a minute |
| To someone else | Your wallet signs each one |
Any fee shows in the form before you send. See Transfers.
Sub-accounts and account type
Section titled “Sub-accounts and account type”| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Sub-accounts | 16 on Plus, 64 on Premium, 4 on Standard |
| Creating them | Up to 2 a minute |
| Deleting them | Not possible |
| Names | At least 3 letters |
| Back from Premium to Plus | Not possible once you have more than 16 sub-accounts |
| Account type | One for your wallet and every account on it |
| Switching type | Only with no open positions or orders. How often you can switch is set by the exchange. |
See Sub-accounts and Account types.
API key slots
Section titled “API key slots”Every account and sub-account has its own key slots, numbered 0 to 254. Lighter’s own apps keep some of the lowest. Mirrorlane gives each of your devices its own key in a free slot, and never replaces a key another app or device uses.
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Keys per device | One for each account you trade from, sub-accounts included. A new key on the same device takes its old slot. |
| Every slot taken | Revoke an old key in API keys in the Account sheet, then enable trading again. |
| Standard accounts | A lower cap on keys, which the exchange doesn’t publish |
| Key changes | Up to 300 a minute |
| Keys for bots, maker-only keys, read-only tokens | Stay in Lighter’s app |
See Your trading key.
